Hi guys,

Im thinking of putting a push up sunroof in my car and i need some advice.
I found this manual pop up sunroof from a HZ or HX i think and im kinda keen oninstalling it in my car.

But it seems to be a bit big:P the roof width of the car, before that touring bump is 105cmx57cm and the sunroof is 93x46cm thats including the rubber molding around. I wanted to find out you thoughs about installing it, specially thoughts on if it would afect the solidity of the roof and cause it to twist when i take the car offroad?

As 1/4 of my roof liner is falling i also wanted to do that again. I dont want to use the same colth but the fake leather trim that you can buy. I would also want to know if theres a special glue that is use as i know someone who did it and it started to fall a month later.

If anyone did any of those mods before plz shed some ligth on how.

Best advice I can offer:
Sunroof: Put it on ebay.
Roof lining: Get an auto trimmer to install a new one. I had one installed in my VS Commodore wagon and it looks like new. Only cost $200. Shop around and they might even do it in the fabric you want.

you need to see how bad or if you need to cut any roof members. prob there are ones out by the edges. if you need to cut into them more than just a bit then dont do it. you need to see whats up there.
as far as the hole goes, position on roof, mark it out, trim it small and enlarge slowly. you can cut hole with anything, jigsaw prob. i used can opener once on old bunky.
regardless of what you do, it will leak. hopefully only on the passenger! even siliconed shut they leak.
solidity will be ok, but they pop out if you roll over, leaving sharp metal to cut your head and face on.
roof lining, use good expensive spray adhesive and follow directions. spray both surfaces, let tack off then stickem. as long as the substrate is good, ie. not powdery old foam, it will last. i think you can get that vinyl already foam backed? or get the thin foam to back it with
