engine stabilizer rod with 3" lift kit

hey, installed my lift kit on the l'series, however the fan hits the wiring at the bottom and i can't fit the engine stabilizer rod anymore.
has anyone experienced this before? how can i fix it?

A decent lift kit should come with it's own replacement engine stabiliser rod. If not then you just need to extend your original one. Cut it and weld in some extra metal to make it longer (or get somebody else to). This should be done regardless of any issues with wiring in the way - your engine should be stablised despite this.

That being said, this wiring across the front can often get in the way anyway, even with a stabiliser rod. It will pay to spend some time with cable ties etc to ensure it stays clear of the fan.

Alternatively you could consider replacing the original clutch engine fan with an electric fan mounted to the radiator.

hm i thought so. my kit didn't come with one. i suppose i can get that done cheers. just an other little set back

There should have been a small bracket that fits in where the stabilize goes and then the original one bolts to it

lol I wasn't aware of that one, what a great idea! I think I'll do that myself, I was just about to weld up another one :) This sounds easier.

As a note that most of you are not aware of is that after about 96 Subaru changed the design of the pitch rod and as a result they made them from plastic so cutting and welding is now no longer an option. An as a further result steel ones are getting harder to come by.

Since some adapting is required anyway, there are other similar shaped aftermarket parts available that could work. 5SFE Camry is one that springs to mind.
