Impreza auto shifter into L series

Post by Pav » Fri Feb 19, 2010 12:39 am

Hi, another question regarding my EJ20 awd auto L series. The standard L auto shifter won't let me go down into 1st manually (I'm guessing cos originally was a 3 speed and this is now a 4 speed?), anyway,

- would it be easy to just fit an Impreza/Liberty/whatever shifter into the L series?

- or should I modify the L shifter somehow?

A lib one fits in easy,i guess an impressa is the same. The cable to the box will be a bit long but has enough flex to work no worries.

factory 4sp L series doesn't do first either. cable lengths are fine. you may have to fiddle with the adjustment a bit but its doable.

plenty of them at the wrecker in hemmant.(QLD)
