An interesting solution to an interesting problem, that would definitely stop the firewall from flexing.

but why are all the pedals right next to the heater? have you made a learner drivers car? :)

I wonder if a rhd wrx pedal box would cure the firewall issues. Its an easy mod, the wrx pedal box fits perfectly on the L series brake booster mounts, but I have a little bracing to do as it doesnt match the mounts under the steering column. And the pedals? cold feet:)

Our pedal boxes seem different to what you have, here the clutch is a separate item and the brake acc are one piece, that goes for Legacy & WRX.

Today I eliminated more stuff in the way by putting it on my wagon. Last summer I pulled some door cards off a gl wagon, usually the gl's have the nicer interior. Once I had the door cards off I decided to install some mdx speakers Ive had, and the donor interior was set up for rear speakers. Then I decided to install matching lock cylinders for the tilt column that will be going in soon. I can almost walk around in my shed.

I went from this

That is Touring Wagon quality in Aussie spec you have there. Reckon we could rustle up some learner driver pedals from our shores for the lad to pretend he is driving next to dad :)

the pedal difference is likely due to the wheel well bump location shift

Comes to mind Ive never posted this up, but a pretty cool guy hooked me up with this set up.
I think the donor was a crashed car as the waic radiator was grinning at me when I opened it up. So I sent it to a shop to be straightened out and recored. Turns out they straightened it out and pressure tested it and sent it back for my approval. Cant wait to start installing stuff under the hood, if the weather holds maybe by this weekend.
cheers, Mark

Today is drivetrain install and I hope to have the wrx 5 speed, rear diff and such installed clean up time allowing.
Installing the ej transmission is plug and play using the ej center section along with the xt6 front and rear cross members.

I ran across an add online yesterday, a guy had bought a new '07 wrx and within 2 weeks had a performance shop install a cobbs system from the turbo back. He boxed up his stock system and had it in storage up until yesterday.
It was free for the pickup:cool:

Is this true Mark? I use the 2 front sections of the Liberty/Legacy crossmember when I do an EJ D/R into an L. I find that the front holes line up perfectly but looking at the XT6 front piece looks like they are different. It makes more sense to use the XT6 as they should be idendical to the L.

Thanks Giles, I didnt get as far as I would have liked today. A four hour drive around with the little lady today, but I did finish the mounts, fabbed a couple 4" blocks for the rear mount and hunted everywhere for the rear mount bolts. A trip to the hardare store tomorrow and I think im good.

Yessir, the assembled mount in the pic is ej, and you can see that the front and rear xt6 crossmembers are narrower. The rear is 2 cm narrower and the front is 10 cm's narrower.

that exhaust will work really well, that giant resonator really stops noise, it will be really quiet even if you dont have the final muffler on :)
