T'sunami Wagon

Post by T'subaru » Mon May 17, 2010 6:52 am

Hi all,
I started my lift kit install this weekend.
Image
Installed a 4:11 diff for the ej 5spd, will go lsd when I can locate one. Also reman axles to go with the new bearings, seals, discs and pads installed just before parking it about a year ago.

So far im pretty happy with the way things are working out. Ill start the front lift next weekend after picking up new axles.
Cheers, Mark

Looking good Mark :)

Are they front drive shafts in the rear?

nope, they are twins to the originals I removed ( less the metal dust shields at each end)
why do you ask?

Probably because the outer joints appear to be CVs but this was common on later models.
You can get more wheel travel by using an inner DOJ instead of the CV.

Pretty much as brumbyrunner has said :) I'd like a closer photo of your outer rear joints if possible?

yep, looks weird with the stock wheels and im hoping pugs with some larger rubber will take care of that. There is no jack under the car,and other than a 3 ton floor jack I have nothing that will handle a tire swap on the road. when I finished the rear and got my first look I thought holy s___! Might look a bit better when the front is lifted.

No sir, not yet. We didnt get this ej in the us. The importer I purchased the ej from has something going for me possibly, but I wont know for sure until months end after they receive a container. My plan is to procede as if I had everything, the last part of my project will be ecu/waic/harness.
