EJ20G Brumby driver accosted on roadside

Post by steptoe » Mon Dec 17, 2012 10:40 am

by steptoe just to get a look :) and MATE , wish I had my camera !

Pulled up beside me at a light, had my window down by next light, bugger, gone green again, a toot and his window down now and willingly pulled over.

I have seen a bodgy conversion in the flesh and now I have seen the ultimate, anally tidy to suit Fujis work.

EJ20G with 4 speed auto, WAIC factory ECU and TCU
L300 radius rods
L Series front sway bay fitted up to MY engine cross member, pinching the L xmem bracket and maybe lib ball jointed link bar fitted to custom bracket on front of lower control arm. Looked like it was factory - almost.
No damage or interference to rails, eng xmem has about 40mm lift blocks to get best CV & DOJ anglesm Fitted lib engine to firewall stay system.

Custom made one piece tailshaft

The absolute beauty of this is the guy driving it did all the work for his dad who popped a welch plug in the EA81 and cooked it. Why not update it a bit dad ? Shame the only donor car is turbo front cut :D

Panasonic fans for the radiator.

x bread EJ 5 stud brake conversion kit as well.

I could almost say I am an EJ convert after seeing this, and to hear it drive off without effort just got up to 80k and disappeared :) :)

NSW engineered too.
Oh yeah, a neat little coolant header tank with cap sitting down about where PS pump might have been. Window washer bottle screwed up backing on the firewall. WAIC pump down under LHS guard.

Everything looked to be done with a passion, right down to the alloy tranny cooling lines and their hold to chassis brackets.

Libert brake master with ports face RHS guard, a banjo bolt junction in use for brake line to screw up into.
I noted a cast spacer between engine and auto box but it is factory thing

Aw, mate !

Oh yeah 2, a later model gauge pod inside as well.

I know all of the above has been done before but to see such a tidy job in the flesh ..... yeah as Carl says....... porn ........

Found it hard to believe the gauge pod fits in the space, and understand it ain't plug and play either

Gotta give this guy credit for blending the L Series front sway bar in - for the MY standard sway bar hits EJ boxes, some people omit the bar totally, some find and fit an auto MY sway bar.

I have an idiotphone - will that do ? Didn't have that with me either, but given up on it as anything more than a telephone without a landline.
