MY IGN lock security screws info

Those security screws that takes a pointy centre punch and hammer to remove - on MY they are M5 0.8mm pitch so you can know what to ask for when you get your replacement choice of bolt/security screw.
Pretty sure L Series got M6 1.0mm pitch, or was it M8 1.25 chunky style ?

I find once you have them out, just use a hacksaw and cut a slot in them. This way you can just screw them back in with a flat blade screwdriver

Just done so, thanks for the tip on size. What a bitchuva job! Surely no one steals an old subaru using this method ?

I think it maybe more of a legal requirement ( in Oz anyway ) to ensure ownership issues back then ( think VIN numbers etc. ) even more so with todays electronic 'keys'.
