hmmm !! not seen that one before, and not sure all the rally L's got all that attention ! Some had budgets! It kills the idea that the ECU was a special unit - it was the std AUDM ECU that was 'special' :p

the ECU is the 'every market except Australia ECU' and from the hydraulic lifter for EA81 saga, it not listed either coz was not in models sold in our market (supposedly)

What was the difference between ours and the rest of the world? Everyone got 115hp except for the JDM hi-rise manifold Vortex that got 130 something hp.

before the hi rise spider manifold, there were still 2 HP ratings for EA82T's around the world. The diifference may have been in mapping due to fuel differences, pollution laws were something different as well as in when the EGR operated.

All of the EA82Ts I have had ran 130psi cranking speed pressure, until I measured the Vort - has 150 ! Someone up near Coffs harbour has an ECU that does not list in parts book choice of 20 ECU's for L Series .... 22611AA001

I've been told of a fellow who has a rally L Series that he can't get registered as it has no compliance plate! Be curious to see and hear it and look at ECU. The someone I know who knows the guy , is hard to find at times .....

I live near Coffs Harbour. Was it a 3 or 4 plug ecu in question?

Not you Gannon. The RX I heard about was supposedly brought into the country in the 80's for rally only - hence its no compliance plate. Sitting on a graziers property somewhere 'round Yass

No idea if 22611AA001 is 3 or four plug ECU but suspect it was three, as 002 was also a three plug.

There is something sequential about Fujis numbering system for parts, but seems not the last number, more the second last digit ?

Are you saying the rally spec ECU for a 3plug RX turbo is still available for $2500?

don't forget, no one is saying that 001 is a rally spec ECU !

I suspect the other markets ECU 092 ? might have been used here as rally spec ?

Or did OS markets also have a rally spec ECU ?

Those two numbers are not valid anymore in any of my systems

22611AA550 is the closest with a description of EGI CONT UNIT TURBO 88 91 XT
and 22611AA520 with description of EGI CONT UNIT 88 XT

Was talking to Ross Dunkerton last night at a bbq and he bought a rally spec, no compliance plate RX turbo from Subaru for $12500 and rallied it in 1986.

He said their biggest problem was the dual range was the weakest part of the gearbox, they added an oil pump to spray oil on the gears and still had breakages.

That makes sense as they ran the rally RXs in 4wd Lo all the time and I don't think the gearboxes were really designed to deal with that sort of punishment.

Bet he was floored that you even knew of his rally history. I got similar from the navigator for Greg Carr of late 70's - in Ford Escorts. Lucky they weren't brothers, as his name was Wayne :)

It is bloody hard work on the driver shifting all the time when in 4 lo !
