Power Steering rack ends, boots and grease

Post by Phizinza » Tue Jun 23, 2015 6:53 pm

This doesn't really fit in this section, but I could not locate a section for steering and since this rack will be going in my Brumby it kinda does fit, ish.

I pulled a boot off one of the EA82 racks I have acquired and found it dripping in very low viscous grease, it just looked like molly grease but way too wet. Would this indicate it has been leaking oil and that it's blended with the grease? There didn't appear to be any red oil anywhere to be seen under the boot.

The owner of suspension place I have used for 25 years mixes up what he calls "honey" to put into rack boots.
Basically a mixture of grease and oil to what sounds like the same consistency you speak of. Maybe others have had the same idea??
