Brake upgrade that retains 4x140PCD questions

Post by El_Freddo » Sun Sep 30, 2018 10:03 pm

@wagonist - can you please explain/give details of the Honda Integra rear caliper mod, but more so what caliper mods you've done up front for better brakes that retain the factory 4x140 PCD?

What master cylinder and brake booster are you running for this caliper combo?

I'm keen to know more about this if you're willing to share.

Cheers

So obviously no comments on this... yet.

I stumbled across this old thread about fitting VT brake calipers to the MY/L series knuckle - but as usual, the OP drops off without any further details or conclusion to their claims. If this works I’m keen to know about it!

So I’m still keen to hear from anyone that’s upgraded the brakes to handle more power AND retained the factory 4x140 PCD for that sleeper look...

Cheers

The OEM rear disc setup is available, and works well. Slotted discs and good pads are available for the vehicle and deliver increased braking performance.

Thanks L-Rex, I’m well aware of the rear disc setup, I’ve already got them but would like to increase the stopping power with these.

While searching the forum I stumbled across this old thread (linked above) about the commodore calipers being adapted to the MY/L series front end. I’d like to know more about this or other front caliper conversions that’ll increase braking power. Also if there are any suggestions to upgrade the rear calipers I’d be keen to hear about this too.

Cheers

Sorry, only just noticed this.
I haven't done anything with the front brakes.
For the rear, I simply replaced the subaru caliper with the Honda one into the Subaru caliper carrier.
I think there was a bit of trimming to the pad guides.

I've never finished it off properly though. Had some custom brake lines done up, but never had the handbrake cables finished.
