Hi there,
I am hoping somebody can help me with my 89 L series wagon. Have just been fortunate enough to get my hands on a 32/36 weber & adapter but was wondering what to do about the air cleaner. The carby & adapter look taller than the hitachi set up & it doesnt look like there is a great deal of room between the stock air cleaner & the bonnet already. Any suggestions???
Thanks

Have you got a lift kit? As it will clear if you do. I would just get a straight edge between the tyre and front radiator support and measure the roung height you have and go from there. I have a spare adaptor and air filter (air filter pretty crappy but) to suit a 32/36 weber which i could measure if you want?

Nah, dont have a lift... yet. But am definatly looking into it. Luckily I scored an adapter with the carby. My brother mentioned he had one of those bug eye looking ram flow air cleaners that he had on his old cortina, so I will give that a go. Thanks for the strate edge suggestion will definatly be using that one. I guess the next task now will be working out all the anti pollution gear.
Thanks again for your help.
Cheers

i got a ram flo airfilter on a l series, with 32/36 weber- the bonnet isn't the problem it fits, the problem is the spare wheel, it rests (pushes) the filter towards the bumper. u will also have to drill a couple of holes in the base of the filter as a couple of hoses dont fit on the weber or air filter.
Which adapter r u using- i bought one from A1 performance in Myaree as a 'Bolt on' , not true its a adapter that needs to be adapted.
