Hello
i have recently bought a 89 brumby. i wanted to convert it to a ea81t but they are becomming rare so instead i want to convert it to ea82t and maching gearbox is there much work (except wireing)in this convertion or is all bolt up?

prolly not worth it, ea82t, from what i heard, are pretty unreliable, Ej conversion would be a better choice as parts will be harder and harder to get as time goes on.
Any other menmbers correct me if im wrong

Also it is a proven fact that more of the chassy rails need to be cut out to fit an ea82 than even an EJ20T.

sounds a bit harsh on a 20 year old engine boys.Rebuild the donk if you want reliability, service the heads, replace gaskets and seal, belts and tensioners. If the ute is at std height you will get about 6mm clearance either side without touching chassis rails. You have to keep in mind nothing different ever just fits and goes.

Work other than wiring ? Fuel supply needs to be high pressure fuel pump and a return pressure line from the back of the rail. If you try searching this site you will find heaps. I have a 5 speed L series in my Brumby. It use a L series 2 piece tailshaft with simple flat bar brackets fitted to the floor to suport the centre bearing. Most things are simple but time consuming, if you have the time you'll do it
