Can someone please confirm the mods required to the L series crossmember before dropping in an EJ22, so far I've read it needs to be slotted out 5mm or packed up with washers or the use of tapered perlin washers (whatever they are) I would prefer to do it properly the first time and not end up with broken engine mounts as I've read in other posts, I just need a definative answer on how it should be done or what's needed to do it.
Cheers

ok if you have the round(lib) engine mounts you have to use some kind of spacer(washers) and prolly elongate the engine mount holes?(correct me if im wrong)
or you can use the square (lib) engine mounts and prolly again elongate the mount holes to suit?
i am currently using the square mounts on my MY crossmember and have elongated the holes to fit.
i hope this answers your questions

The slotting isnt neccessary but it just makes the actual fitting of the engine easier. You kindof have to push the mounts in abit to get them to fit initially. Once the engine is seated it makes no difference either way.
The spacing up is only required to stop the front part of the gearbox bellhousing / rear of the engine from occasionally hitting the engine crossmember.

I'm running tapered washers so the mounts sit on the same angle as standard also slotted the holes for easier removal..Purlin or girder washers they are took a bit of time to find some.

We have done quite a few of them now. We always slot the holes and have never fitted tapered washers.

i havent slotted holes or anything and i keep breaking mounts. Im using the round style at the moment, but i'll be changing to the square ones soon, they seem abit stronger (ie not fluid filled like the round style)
let me know how u go
