Basic power increases to 03 impreza rv

Post by garfield » Sat Feb 23, 2008 12:49 pm

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, i've just purchased an impreza rv 03 model love a wrx but next time round in the meantime in relation to other 2 litre vehicles the impreza drives great handles well but frankly is a little low on the power side.
I'm not after huge gains but would just like a little bit more pickup and a little more power when overtaking some tips would be great thanks

A free flowing exhaust and intake (but not a pod filter) might help you a bit

yeah, and say a 2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust system, with a couple of high flow mufflers, depending on how loud you want it

2.25" with mandrel bends or 2.5" with press bends, with a resonator (or it WILL be loud and raspy) and a decent rear muffler, nat a dam cannon.

Be careful with the K&N, if you over oil it, it will f&ck your AFM.

You could also get a light weight crank pulley, no extra power, but free up a bit of rotating mass.
Then later when/if you need a new clutch, you could put in a L.W flywheel.

It depends how far (read, how much $$) you want to go.

yes cannons are silly they are for people who think 1.5 litre corrolas go better if they make noise

are powerchips as good as what people reckon they are or are they a complete waste of cash

dont waste your money on crappy engine mods where only a couple of Kw is achievable.

Save your cash for either a rex, or an engine conversion.
