Fuel addative = BLOCKED CAT

i just put a bottle of F-10 fuel treatment in to my car and it complety blocked my cat

What the hec is up with this any1 else had some thing different

Now my car = no can drive

i think those things say safe to use on most cars but yeh ive never had a problem. meh.
u just might lose some of your cat out the exhaust if it breaks down :p

Yer i limped it home and i was planning on bashin the cat out but now it appers to have blow a head gasket or something as i have all my coolant in my oil

how would u go abot bashin the cat out when the ends r weled to it

you have to cut it out of the front pipe...knock the guts out..and weld it back in....or just swap the the front exhaust headers over from another car...or as i did on my Lseries (my cat **** itself to) i just fitted lukey headers straight through no cat in em....

oh ok well im up for a rebuild now so i have already sent a engine in for rebuild but wasnt gonna put it in untill i got all my little bits for it
but looks like it will be going straight in

cut the cut out today and its in perfect condition looks like even tho it was glowing red it wasnt blocked

when they are blocked you don't get much pressure out the tail pipe and is generally gutless. but don't rubbish your old man, mechanics almost need to know too much to be on the ball all the time with cars these days !!

cats might glow red hot in normal operation coz normally guards are there to stop burning things and kockies often remove their cats so as not to burn the scrub under them.
