Post by VS3800 » Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:13 pm

Does anyone know where i could get some unequal headers for my 1.8L?

Heard that they came on the early 1st gen legacys?

Im struggling to find anything to fit the 1.8...

G'day
What engine are they for? Ej18 i assume?
Most i've seen factory for ej's cat inclusive and essentialy unequal length.
Are you after the boxer beat due to being uneven?
I was under the impression that the beat was from the 1 3 2 4 firing order -awaiting correction-
I roll with even length strags and have that wonderous note and more torque, it's all up up to the owner or space restrictions
Any exhaust shop could knock a custom set up for a in a few hours.
But if you do in custom, insist on mandrel bends, after spending your hard earned bikkies, you don't want a MORE restrictive system through shitty crushed bends (due to minimal working space and tight angles) instead of glorious smooth mandrel's mmmmm..... Mandrel's -drools-

Just my two bob worth :)

Cheers

I'm sure your subi already as them with the stock exhaust system unless its up near the post 2000/2004 end of the market... What I think you need to do is open up the exhaust a little to get rid of the sound muffling system that hampers the subi beat...

This is a 2.5 outback (I think) with equal lenght extractors and an open exhaust - I think it sounds the part!
