02 b4 liberty exhaust from a wrx

Post by outlander » Mon Feb 01, 2010 10:44 pm

Hi

i have been offered(cheap!!) a full exhaust system 3" turbo back to a 4.5" cannon from a '03 WRX and was wondering if it or what parts of it would fit and suit my 2002 B4 liberty. at the moment the exhaust is completley standard (boringly silent).

Thanks

Its shorter. But can be done with mods (connections etc).
The Y piece from engine (to turbo), rear muffler will fit but the centre part wont as its shorter.
Cheers

you would be much better off just getting one made up than trying to mod a current one.

I got an exhaust specialist to do my L series and my brothers Lib

I got a 3" straight pipe all the way to the 4" Cannon on the end (No Cat). (Love SA's slack EPA laws :P)

The best thing about it is because it was done by an exhaust workshop, when I was driving through vic and got pulled over for having an illegal exhaust they let me off because technically its the shops fault for selling illegal setups not mine :P (I just keep the invoice in my glovebox as proof I didn't make it myself)

For $270

The EJ22 in my brothers lib with that setup sounds identical to a rex (but louder)

(I will probably get a Magnaflow Cat before I drive up to brisbane later in the year as I don't want to risk it on such a big trip)

yea i have thought about having one made up but there are no decent exhaust shops around where i am (none i trust with my B4 anyway).

Also bcos it is the turbo model am i safe to just have an exhaust made what else do i need to do so i dont damage the engine?

Not really bad if it is boringly silent. it will not be obvious if you setup is illegal. do you guys now any complete exhaust systems shop that i can trust? i am from Adelaide. Sorry for digging this one anyways i just read it carefully same concern so i think i dont need to create a new thread.
