86 XT coupe muffler

Post by Subydoug » Fri Nov 02, 2012 10:28 am

Hi,

Anyone know where I can pick up a new muffler for a 1986 Subaru xt coupe? (Vortex in Australia)

I tried nation wide autoparts but they no longer make them. I cant find anyone else who has them for sale.
Failing that, could I adapt a wagon muffler to fit? Its still only an EA82.

Regards

Doug

any exhaust shop can use a generic muffler.

theres no need for a subaru specific part.

nncoolg, Thanks for the offer mate. What I might do is pop into an exhaust shop and get them to also make a new header. Mines a little worse for wear. Mufflers more important because I dont want our friendly law inforcement friends to slap a yellow on it for noise. It would pass on everything else.

If I dont get any luck Il shoot you a pm.

Regards

Doug

Im running a standard lucus 2.5" sports muffler on mine. The sound is great and not too loud.
You can use any ea 82 headers from a injected l series.
