L series exhaust note - possible cat problems ?

Post by booma » Tue May 30, 2006 9:42 pm

Hello,

Its been discussed previously but I wanted to get a proper idea.

I suspect that my cat on the L series maybe have "collapsed" baffles internally due to the exhaust note.

Is there a definite way of checking before going to a muffler shop (and possibly getting fleeced ?)

Thanks all

In an off road vehicle not needint to comply with ADR's you might try removing the cat and visually inspecting, cough remove the honeycomb with BFH and rods'n'things over a garbage recepticle and see if that fixes it, then get a new one to comply with adr's.
