I was trying to remove my downpipe thisarvo to fix an exhaust leak near the mid muffler and as i was removing the bolts from the turbo that hold the downpipe on, one of them broke.

What do i do, i only have 2 bolts holding the turbo on (the other was cross threaded when i got it.

Please help

So I gather you mean one has sheared off in the back of the turbine housing ?

Yeah, sheared is a better word to discribe it, "sheared while it was trying to undo it" and yes off the back of the turbine housing.

Pain in the butt but it sounds like your going to have to pull turbo and get someone to remove the remains of the bolt . I think there's four bolts holding it to the up pipe , one for the brace and three to hold it on the flange . The oil feed pipe is a little fiddly but not as bad as some . From the turbo it runs down and under the turbo side head to another banjo bolt underneath this head .

None of this is unusual with turbos , they often have stainless steel fasteners and stainless threads have a bad habit of locking up . In the past I've had some success with high tensile steel bolts but possibly I was just lucky .

Pftttt they so easy to remove.

Drill out the bolt with a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the bolt.
Then use a Tap to re-thread the hole the same size as the original stud/bolt.

Then its fixed! I have done this to 5 or 6 turbos now.....

Thats what im thinking.
But something crossed my mind, while i have the turbo off, why not put a
TF035 on there (xt forester turbo)

It doesnt take much to modify the up pipe and all i need is a wrx downpipe

Opinions?
