Hey all,

Well after i got my car back from the belt change, she seems to be running alot smoother *touch wood. What actually happened was with the previous belt change, apparently they didnt swap out the old bearing, or whatever it was. So what has happened, is with age, i was driving along and the bearing seizes, thus ripping my timing belt to shreds.

Can't for the life of me figure out why its running better though..... if it had skipped a tooth, it would not have run at all.. so i'm not sure..

Anyway, to the topic at hand.

I'm looking at a 2 1/4" exhaust system for my carb'd ea82. Was wondering if anyone around the Brisbane area has any suggestions as to which places are cheap and good. I'm close to the muffler shop at stones corner, but am willing to ship it elsewhere to get a better job done.

Is it much more expensive to get a new Cat done too as opposed to a regular cat back system? Would be nice to change it out, being how old it is.

Also pricing in general, anyone know.

Pretty much i'm a noob on the whole exhaust thing, so any information or recommendations would be good.

Strongly reeccomend the following for a carb EA82

2 inch is plently - buy a new cat (high-flow sports version), x1 cannon mufler + a sports muffler.

Some will advise against a cat at all - aside from from upsetting the EPA, you risk a fine, and the shop as well - up to $10,000.

I gained better ecconomy with the cat in place. No droning, but a nice note on WOT

No need for a "sports" cat, anything with sports in the name instantly triples the price, all you need is a cat off a falcadore or similar large engined vehicle, it'll flow more than your suby will ever need.

Cheers for the advice. Turns out i'm just going with the cat back for now, new cat was $$$ which i dont have.
