L series carbie Y pipe question.

Hey all,

I've got a problem with my current Y pipe on my MPFI L series. Its a little home made and won't seal on the engine properly (got it like this when i did my conversion).

I still have my original carbie Y pipe thats in good condition. I was wondering, does anyone know if i could get the O2 sensor mounted in the usual location on the carbie Y pipe and still retain proper operations.

Cheers

Cant see why not.

Ive read that the o2 sensor should be mounted on (or as close as possiable to) the cat converter to provide enough heat to make it work properly.

I'm guessing that with the 3 or 4 wire o2 sensor you wouldn't have to worry about that...

I cut the flanges off my original carby y-pipe (MY, though there's no real difference between MY and L pipes), and fitted them to the MPFI y-pipe I recently fitted (thanks again Gannon!). Also, use the OEM Subaru flange gaskets - the USMB guys always have problems with the non-OEM units. They're darn expensive - about $38 a pair - but they do work.

(The local Subaru service guys said the flanges have to be swapped between MY and L, but that's not the case - they'll bolt straight up).
