help - need exhaust because of lift

Post by tommo » Sat Jan 19, 2008 7:35 pm

Hey,
so I'm lowering my L sedan from a 4" lift to a 2" and have run into problems with the exhaust. I knew it would be a problem just didn't anticipate it being such a big one.
My car has a '93 impreza engine and hence custom exhaust which has been fitted after the car was lifted. Lowering the car means that the exhaust now doesn't fit at all becuase the engine's too high in relation to the body.
Basically I'm in a hell of a pickle.

So firstly maybe a stupid question but would a stock L series exhaust fit onto an impreza engine?

Secondly, does anyone have an exhaust that would fit this car lying around that I could borrow for a week or two? Or buy for that matter.

Thanks if anyone can help me out.
Tom.

Stock L won't fit ,but you can get a L series rear pipe[From the bolt on flange] to bolt onto ej headers as a temp fix.Your headers look like mrt ones or custom so that may or may not work.Another option is to cut it so you got headers and a bit of pipe and head down to a exhaust shop to join/remake the rest.Should be able to bodge something up if you've got a welder and grinder.

Thanks Will,
So yeah, if anyone's got an L series exhaust from cat converter back (as that's the only bolt up flange on mine) that'd be a great help too.
Thanks again.

Like he said, any exhaust shop should be able to modify what you have fairly easily to fit.
