Hey guys!

i know it's a little late but better late than never! As some of you know I have only had my little Brumby for a couple months, but I have been itching to do a trip away in it. My brother suggested we pack both of our Bumby's a head to Victorias high country and by far one of my favourite places to go away!

So we packed both utes with our swags and sufficient refreshments and hit the road on Friday night! I managed to convince him that seeing as it is winter now and fairly cold, possibly the best move was to book accommodation in pubs along the way. Guaranteed warm shower, bed and meal! And most importantly plenty of beer on tap! Now I must also add, prior to leaving I went and purchased a set of 4 Kuhmo R700 rally tires which I found to be really amazing off road! Almost don't need to shift the Brumby into 4x4 they have that much grip! My brother on the other hand said they were unnecessary and persisted with his $50 Chinese highflys.

Day 1 began in Mansfield, only 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Melbourne and mighty cold I might add.

We headed into the local bakery/BP for fuel and sausage rolls and the usual other stuff to keep ourselves going for the day and started making our way up Mount Buller. We turned off a little before it and my brother/navigator/tour guide had a look on his maps and we started our climb deep into the mountains!

By the time we had climbed almost to the top of Mount Tomahawk or Tomahawk Gap as others may know it, I could smell something strange in the tray of the Brumby. So stopped for a minute to find that the good old trusty metal jerry can had leaked all inside the tray of the ute and managed to soak the swag. not happy! Anyway, moving on so I put the swag on the roof of the back up 4wd and kept on moving. Made it to the top in the end and the views were spectacular! 1560 meters up in the sky!

the ground was a little frozen too!

We began making our way across the ranges and over to Craigs hut, obviously for those that don't know, was built for the famous Australian movie "The Man from Snowy River". The hut has since been rebuilt twice due to bush fires having gotten the better of it, but nether the less it was still a great sight to see! Especially the looks on all the 4wd crowds faces when we pulled up in two Subaru Brumby's.
