Post by tool-man » Sat Dec 06, 2008 2:51 pm

hey, im thinking of lowering my RX liberty about 1.5-2 inches. if i got 18" rims wuld they rub on the wheel arches? are 18s even too big for libertys?

hey tool-man

what gen is it??

i have a 98 gen2 ser2 rx and that has been lowerd about 2 inches and i can only put 17's on it, until o have to start cutting the arches out. its pretty annoying, if you want some good tyres go on tepmt tyres online they have a pretty good selection and they all come with tyres fitted all you have to do is get them imported from melb thats all, i know a guy that knows him and he brings them over when you have brought them and fits them for like $50 extra,

but as for size i think it will look good, but you have to think about the guards and you will most prob have to cut them out for 18's 17's will fit just perfect, but thats on a gen2 ser2.

yer mines a gen 3. 17s will still prob look good. i dont really want to spend more money getting stuff cut out jur for an extra inch, ya know. if i got it lowered first and then took it to a trye place do u rekon the wuld tell me wat size wuld fit, or they wuld jus put on watever i choose nd let me find out if it rubs.

also do WRX rims nd wheels fit on libertys?

I've got 18's on my Gen 3, didn't rub - until I put the stereo in and had 2 or 3 people in the back, then I got the rear gaurds rolled.
That was with 225/45 tyres too.

The WRX 17's also fit too.

theyll fit easy. Make sure u get the correct offset tho, its very important.

Also the wheels wont hit the struts. Theres guys running 20s on ozlib.

Put the wheels on first, see how it looks then get it lowered if it looks shit.
