What kind of problems did brett have with the 694 bridgestones? these are one of the styles i have been looking at, do you know what size they were and if they were a light truck construction?

the sidewalls are very exposed with these tyres. He got about 4 flats on the trip.

That said he does drive like a madman ;) Will ran the same tyres on his outback for no punctures.

I got 3 punctures. All of them were from driving through the shell grit on the beach. One directly through the tread, one on the edge of the tread close to the side wall and the last one in the side wall.

I was worried about them before we crossed the desert but they were faultless in that sort of terrain. They are OK on the beach but not great. Probably a sensible choice for the car considering how much offroad use it gets though which is no where near as much as the old Liberty.

What size were those ones brett?

ive been looking at the 694's or some yoko at/s both in approx 215 75 15.

wanting an all terrain that mainly gets use in sand and dirt (no mud in sa)

you have tons of choices in a 215/75R15

look at a goodyear wrangler ATR or a nankang wide conquerer. both excellent on the beach

I just spoke to the tyre distributor of Queensland for Nankang tyres they said that both supper trippers and wide conqueror are not available any more (bugger)
There replacement are (super tripper) FT4 http://www.nankangtyres.com.au/prodDetail.php?pid=37
(wide conqueror) FT7 http://www.nankangtyres.com.au/prodDetail.php?pid=38

I've got the ft7 as a spare for the l.It doesn't look aggressive enough for what i have planned.
On the 694's they aren't bad.The smaller sizes aren't light truck rating and kmart sells em cheaper than bridgestone, go figure:confused:.
Yarney have you got new tyres for the lib yet?
