Geeezus Krist!!!!

Post by Subyroo » Wed Apr 08, 2009 5:28 pm

I knew the World had an economic problem but I just found out 2nd Car Parts Dealers are doing it a whole lot tougher than anybody else.

I emailed out an inquiry to a Parts Dealer as to the availability and price of a 2nd hand rim with no "gutter rash" or minimal at best to suit my 03 XS Forester and they have quoted me $350.00, surely they have to be dreaming.

This is a pic of the type of rim I was looking for as they never sent me a pic of the one they offered to me.

yeah that's pretty excessive, although they might be reluctant to split a set apart to sell you just 1.
You might want to look into getting your existing one repaired, there are places that do that.
Also I'm not sure about your state but in WA we have a place called Mr Mag which specialises in supplying odd mags for people who don't need a whole set.

That price doesn't surprise me at all, OEM mags cost a packet new and as Andrew says they are probably breaking up a set.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a set of aftermarket rims...

Well your spelling is a bit off but you are right, it is almost Easter.

With regard to the wheels, try http://www.yellowpages.com.au/bi/wheel- ... 78292.html
They will fix it like new.

you can buy a set of 4 of these rims on ebay for almost same price as 1 rim! I've seen these rims on ebay a few times.
Cheers

Ian - the pic is not of my rim, I was looking to buy a 5th rim in good condition for a spare so I can do a 5 tyre rotation instead of the 4.
