28's on a lifted impreza

Post by cruzingbrumby » Wed May 21, 2008 2:53 pm

What would you have to do to get 28's on a lifted impreza ?

I am thinking a 2 inch lift, but the struts are the problem, the impreza have the lowest lower spring perch of all, would you need forester or outback struts to get them to fit?

How much massaging of the inner guards would need to be done, I suppose that you would need either forester or outback wheels with the greater offset as well.

Anyone seen a setup like this or have one that could comment

Forester or Outback struts n springs will give enough height and clearance to the spring seat.
Then shift the wheel back to the center of the wheel arch(Outback trailing arm brackets or cut n shut trailing arms)
When that's not high enough talk to Suby Wan about a lift kit.

You can fit anything on anything if you try hard enough :P

go with early forester struts.. outback gear is too stiff for the lightweight impreza shell

why have you decided on 28's? any particular reason?

Will have a 2 inch lift kit for sure, looking at 28's as there seems to be a lot more choice in the 215/70/16 size which equates to more availability and cheaper price, I spent ages looking for a reasonably priced 215/65/16 before when i had the lifted lib but was not many to be found and the price was always high.

How much lift will forester struts and spring give it with the 50mm lift on top?
