I had the same problem with my L series - cheap Chinese wheels aren't drilled on centre and the centre hole is too large to locate on the hub, which is what actually centres the wheel.
You can get an 'on-car wheel balance'. That will help with the symptoms but not the cause. They really need to be redrilled.

Don't be too surprised if some of your Desert Rats never run true. I have a few that are "out" so I marked them with black paint and only use them on trailers or as spares. It is not just a Subie problem either. It is a problem of buying cheap steel rims. If you want straight, true running, hassle free wheels, buy alloy ones.

I don't think there are alloys out there. The tyre place is probably just giving you the run around because they don't want to replace your wheels, which is really what should happen. They just give excuses in the hope you'll just walk off. Don't take shit excuses like they're not located on the spigot, they shouldn't vibrate. Simple as that.
The only alloys I know of are Superlites, made by Performance Wheels. A few weeks ago I was quoted $260 each, with a four week wait for the wheels to be made. My tyre guy also said ROH used to make some alloys with a 4x140 PCD, but they were discontinued several years ago. They were called Drift R, or Shift R or something like that.dylan wrote:ahky thanks, what relitavly easie alloys are avalibe though??? maby ill just get speedy to spnd out some new ones??
i didnt think it would be this stressfull to get new wheels....

Nah havent got em yet, been too busy to go pick em up.dylan wrote:have u got ur kings yet? are they ok?
As already said, if you want good quality, you have to pay for it.
You can either get Alloy Superlites ($220+ each) or Steel Scorpions ($185 each)
But for cheap wheels, you'll pay between $75 and $90 each.

Not genuine sunraisers, I'd say 14 inch speedies. My bet would be that these stick outside the guard a little bit.dylan wrote:i got on to these wheels at a garage sale today, apparently they are genuine sunraysias? but they dont seem to shake like the speedys did so im happy![]()
Genuine sunnies in the 14 inch variety are hard to come by and are the correct offset - meaning no wheel outside the guard.
Good work anyway.
