Most forum messages and people I have met have spoken highly of the Nankang Super Trippers on sand. I'm actually looking at the Nankangs now as a replacement tyre for the Dunlops so I can at least try them out and they're the cheapest of that size (though it's not the only one I'm checking out so I haven't decided yet). They are softer in the wall than the Dunlops and "bag out" better as a result. Their tread depth isn't as deep as some other all-terrain tyres and on sand that's just what you want. In fact, if you want a good sand tyre, forget the all terrain or muddie, the more worn down the tyre is, or more road biased it is the better.

I have been invited to go for a drive in the October long weekend up to the Flinders Ranges in SA with a few mates, and think the Dunlops might be the best for that due to the thinker sidewall, but other than that most of my offroading is sand-based. This is making me lean towards the Nankangs but I will just have to be aware of the softer sidewall when I head up to the Flinders.

All of this is assuming my tax money finally makes it back to me so I can get the lift done first, a whole chain of events waiting for the first event to trigger. :(

Will call up a few places today and see what is available in Adelaide in the way of Nankangs and Dunlops. If I find any good prices, will post.

hey crundle,
I have 3 inch lift on my L with almost 27" tyres on the car and the Jaycar digital tacho reads 2700-2800rpm at 100kmh by the GPS. For tyre ideas check out this mob you might be suprisied what they have for suby's. http://www.maxxis.com/
If you have any other questions just ask I have the lift kit in now for almost 12 months and I go everywhere.

Cheers
