New Rubber for the Brumby - Maxxis MT-753

Post by Reg Brumbys » Tue May 27, 2008 5:09 pm

Well after a fair bit of looking around and research, I've settled on a set of new tyres for the Brumby. (unless I get irrefutable advise to do otherwise)

Maxxis MT-753's 185r14

At $125 each they appear to be pretty good value and should go a damn site better off road then the current lower profile road tyres that are on there now.

At 25.5 inches I'm expecting a bit of a rub on the unlifted ute? But hopefully nothing a bit of trimming or a BFH can't fix.

Is anyone running these?

Will post up pics once they're on.

Post by Reg Brumbys » Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:54 pm

:p

Picked up the new tyres yesterday - they look smikko. Got an alignment done today & fitted the new CV's tonight and put em on - just fit.

They aren't too noisy (I was surprised - looking forward to taking them for a test run out bush.

The tyres are going well so far, but the real test will be off the black top - and they look great compared to the other smaller ones that were on, pretty quiet on the road too (no real difference between them the road tyres I had on before ) but Brumbys aren't really sound proof booths on the road anyway.

Keen as mustard to take them off road but will need to put in the lift kit first otherwise they'll just fowl on the front guards (does it now if I go up the curb too quick)

I got them from ACE Tyres & Auto in Murrarie in Brisbane.
