Thread bump ...

Post by Bantum » Mon Sep 09, 2013 3:23 am

Bit of bump but I found these advertised on USMB :

Image

Just did a search & you can also get them from here :

http://www.airbagit.com/Billet-Wheel-Ad ... -4-5ib.htm

Heaps of other options there too ... !

Although further reading from here & other threads reveals :
... The fitting of spacers or adaptors between wheels and hubs,
additional to those provided by the vehicle manufacturer, is not permitted ...
Query : Does this Still apply only to NSW ?

Also can someone clarify the legality of drilling out either your wheels or the hubs,
as I would have thought it would be in same category of illegal modification ...

Note : Should only consider this spacer option if your not worried about keeping your car legal,
as some have suggested previously if going off-road unregistered, insurance wont cover it.

Cheers, Bantum ...

a BIG no no in any state I would think - ADR compliant is what is needed, and they aren't!
An engineer may be in a position able to sign them off .....

to be sure, for NSW, give the guys at tech enquiries NSW RMS a call 1300 137 302.......they are all bloody helpful in a positive way !

I would be very interested to hear what they say. From what I understand is if they are an OEM option as with Porshe, etc, then they can be passed. Unfortunately not with us... :(

They'd likely suggest if you want spacers, get the Porsche :) , in a most friendly manner
