17 x 7 rims on a brumby

hi
i am thinking of getting some adapters made so the 1x140 stud pattern will fit 1x100 mags. would 17 inch mags fit with low profile tyres (wrx rims are 17'' arent they?) What is the offset on a brumby?

I hope you realise that adapters are illegal.
Best bet is to get the crossbred kit and upgrade to impreza/liberty brakes.

it's my first car so there is no way I can afford the crossbred kit.
There is a place in Melbourne i think that make custom wheel adapters and sell them on ebay. I'm sure they would say if it was illegal.

They are illegal for public road use Australia wide. Don't waste your money on them if your car is to be road registered.

Yes, they are illegal....
But bugger me, I bet most of the cars here are technically illegal.
I ran spacers on my MX5 for years.
Can someone answer the question though....will the wheels fit?

I am runnig 17s on my brumby but i also have a crossbred kit fitted. Its the best way to do it. Save up and invest in a crossbred kit dude.

standard brumby 13/5.5 wheels have about a 55mm positive offset. I ran a set of 15/6 Superlites with a 25mm positive offset and they fitted in the guards beautifully with 215/60's.
At Standard height you can have around a 25" OD tyre. Use
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to figure out what profile you would need to stay within that size.
On a wider rim, the same offset number won't be the same because offset is measured from the centre of the wheel. So you need to take that into consideration.
Not sure how far in from standard your wheel can go either.
Probably about a 50 profile is what your after.
oh and because the suspension on Brumbys is normally stiff and the geometry and setup isn't that crash hot your going to have one hell of a bumpy ride with rubber bands like that.
