Identifying steel rims and other problems

I have a set of 5 steel rims that I would call Sunraysia or Speedy type for my MY wagon. I picked them up from the local wrecker and I cant find a brand name on them anywhere.
On the inside of the rim they have written:
6JJx14 94 d 14 F
Made in Taiwan
ROC
Are these Speedys and what does the ROC mean
These things are driving me nuts at the moment as no amount of balancing the wheels off the car is stopping a slight vibration at 100ks. Ever since I put the wheels on (about 2 weeks ago) I have also developed a vibration when braking. I dont really want to go down the path of on car balancing (if anyone still does this). I am inclined to think the wider offset of the steel rims is throwing something out.
I am now going to swap the fronts with the rears to see what happens and if still no good will be going back to my 13" factory Subaru alloys which had no vibration issues at all.
These alloys are 5-Jx13's with 165/75/13.
How wide a tire can I put on these rims or are the 165's the widest I can safely go.

hmmm... Are u using the same tyres on both sets of rims? i'm just thinking u may have a tyre bulge or something- happened to me :twisted: maybe whoever balanced your new wheels didn't do it properly as even a small balancing issue at higher speeds would cause vibration. i don't think the offset has anything to do with it.

ROC would be the brand, most times balance issues like this are caused by the centre hole in the rim being to large and not being supported by the hub spiggot, then the load is placed onto the wheel nuts and holes which were never intended for this and they become worn and elongated.

When the wheel is balanced it is supported by the centre spiggot, then once fitted to the car it is only supported by worn bolt holes.

I have seen these rims supplied with spacers to make them match the centre spiggot, some plastic, some metal, but I fear your rims may be too far gone for this.

Thanks all for the replies.
The rims holes all appear fine with no elongations, the center hole is certainly bigger than the locating spigot of the hub which is only relevant on the front as the rear hub does not appear to have any locating spigot at all. I have swapped the front to the rear etc with "maybe" (or wishful thinking) some effect on brake vibration (better). I may be getting old and too cautious but I don't have the time to stuff around any longer as the car is a daily driver and family is taking up most of my time so will be putting the original Subaru alloys back on till I either sort things out or sell the Speedy/Sunraysier/ROC rims and tires and I get something else. These Speedy (I will call them this for now) rims owe me $170.00 for the 5 of them with tires so I guess they should sell quickly as this is all I am asking for them.

Hopefully its not a problem with the rims/tyres then else selling em on doesn't seem a good thing to do.

Agreed with ChPLAT - If you sell them on, please offer the buyer a money back guarantee if the problem is because of the rims/rubber.

IS there any build up on a wheel somewhere. I have found if a build up of mud or some sort of gunk on one wheel which doesn't through off while driving will give a shudder. Also is the vibration you have while driving and braking pulsating the pedal, if so , it could be the disks, which means they might need machining.

Also have you gone back to the original rims/tyres to narrow down weather it is your car or infact the wheels.

OK here is what I have learnt/know so far.
I believe the road vibration is due to the front tires being worn somehow as the front to rear swap sorted things in this department. I now feel any further issues with vibration are due to the tires and alignment issues. (alignment, a whole new problem as I think I need adjustable strut tops to set the alignment properly).
In regards to the vibration on braking. I feel the offset is simply amplifying an existing "brake disk needs machining" issue as I don't think the disks have ever been done before. I cant explain it any better but with standard rims if I was to be really critical I would have to say there is a tiny bit of vibration when braking. Hardly noticeable in fact. Unfortunately, with the heavier and wider 14" rims the problem seems to be highlighted somehow to a "what is that" status where as with the standard rims I didn't notice it at all. Yes as stated with other replies I would never sell on defective rims, in fact, if I did sell them on I would try to insist on a try before you buy arrangement. I think this is a reasonable way to go so the buyer knows how the wheels react with their car. I would certainly highlight any issues I have had so there could be no doubt with the buyer on why I was selling them. Don't know what to do at the moment, I have gone back to the original rims and tires to get some "thinking space". No rush anyhow.

For anyone still following this post I have now spent all week swapping 14" wheels around the car and mixing them up with the alloy 13" wheels and testing the car going to and from work each day. I was very surprised to find with the 14's on the front and the 13's on the rear all problems GONE. !, no vibrations and no brake problems.
Tried the other pair of 14's on the front with the 13's on the rear and problem still gone.
Put 14's on rear and brake vibration BACK !.
All this is completely different from my first idea it that it was a front brake disc machining issue. I now plan to try the car with different rear torsion bar settings to see if it is something to do with rear end alignment. I will also look at the rear brakes and maybe get them machined. Not sure what else I can do.
Any other suggestions ?
P.S. at least I am confident it isn't the 14" rims and tires that are causing the problem.

could it possibly be that the 14s aren't locating properly on the back? do they locate on the hub or is it only the studs that hold them in position?
