brumby 175/75/14

Post by kevmif » Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:49 pm

Hi all,

I thought that 175/75/14 should fit with no issue.... but they rub :( :(

What are my options here? I am not prepared to modify the body at all. I think they are just kissing the mudflap so perhaps pulling those off will help. I don't want to lift it stupidly high either but perhaps 1 or 2 inches of lift might be just what I need?

Thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks.

They shouldn't touch anything but the front mud flap,
You can take them off, or ignore it, or pack the radius rod to push the wheel forward a couple of millimeters.

Ok, took off the front mud - that was a mission. Three bolts just snapped, one came out easy the other two needed some gentle persuasion.

It looks and rides a hell of a lot better. But concerned about the wheels rubbing when going over bumps etc.

And whats the go with those plastic guards which I think are to keep dirt from getting between the guard and body? All they do is keep the bloody dirt there. Thinking of taking them off and painting the inside of the guard with that black tar like stuff - thoughts?
