Vortex Stud Pattern

Post by conpop » Fri Oct 23, 2009 11:27 pm

TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP

i have a 85 vortex and have always wanted to change my stud pattern from the 4x140 to the 5 but don't know how to do it.

i have looked everywhere for help but its never clear or detailed. like what exact parts i need from what car and so on. also what do i do with the problem of the hand brake being hooked to the front. how do i change it to the back.

Any info is much appreciated.:)

You would have to get new hubs engineered. (will set you back alot of $$$)

It will also be even harder if your rear brakes are drums.

If both the front and back are discs it can be done but it won't be cheap.

You need a Crossbred kit.

yes... here it is clear and detailed;

1 - buy 1 x crossbred kit
2 - source your EJ hubs, brakes, struts etc
3 - install it all
4 - fit 5stud rims of your choice

This kit is fully engineer approved already.

Or source an XT6 (6-cylinder Vortex) brake set from the US or Japanese market...
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.
