Brumby tyre pressure

Subaru says 26psi normal load, my mechanic says try 32psi and people I spoke to recently at a Subaru wreckers said 36psi. I have been having trouble with my car losing grip on the road in the rain and am looking for advice as to how much to inflate the (fairly new) tyres?

Also is the rear suspension height adjustable on a Brumby ('89)?

The suspension is adjustable on the rear, you can raise and lower by adjusting the big nut in the centre of the rear crossmember. you will need to raise the rear of the vehicle when you do it. You may find that everything is tight. A heap of wd40 around the bolt. I run my tyres at 32 psi

Got a lot to do with the road surface and the tyre quality as far as 'grip'. If it not rained for a while and the road is yet to wash clean of the build up of oil and tyre rubber particles it will be slippery.

Tyre pressure is also dependent on tyre itself. I should listen to my own advice, if/when I check my tyres of all sorts on my Brumby I always give it 36 for tarmac or 28 30 for dirt.

In the wet I slip her into 4WD for the wet, knock out of 4WD when any turning, reversing is needed to avoid diff bind. The difference has been huge on cheapo recaps that are as slippery as buggery in FWD and instant even traction forwards in 4WD wet, great for takeoff at intersections :)
