Referring to Gen 2 and 3 Outbacks & Liberty,
What are the differences between Liberty and Outback, I know that Outback & Forester Rims are 48+ offset and Liberty is 55+ offset, but what else is different?

Why did Subaru use different offsets on both?

Another thing is different is rear trailing arm mounts.

What else?

I understand about the offset thing here is a picture -

does it really matter? If you want a wider track use forester / outback wheels. if you dont... dont use them.

my guess is to either maintain the same track width with a taller suspension setup, or to give wider track to offset the higher center of gravity

How much difference in wheel offset is between the Liberty and Outback?

Here are the tread specs for both from the 2003 Gen3 FSM

The Outback is 10mm wider at the front and 5mm wider in the rear than the Liberty wagon

Does the difference in track front and rear come from the angles of the suspension arms from the taller springs?
