Just wondering whats the best way to get rid of minor scratches on the car?

just goto your local car shop and get some cut and polish, works a dream.

yes buy correct cut and polish from the stores, if the scratch is deep you'll need to fill it up with paint and buff it out, you gotta do a small area first before starting off big area.
How bad is it??
