Clearance between wheels and Gen2 Outback/Liberty shocks

Post by Venom » Wed Apr 07, 2010 2:01 pm

Hey guys,

Does anyone know or able to measure up clearance between a set Gen2 outback and liberty struts and the inside edge of a set of 16x6 inch rims? Doesn't matter if rims are liberty or outback/forester offset.

Just out of interest as well if anyone has had issues with larger tyres scrubbing the strut tube or lower spring seat.

Cheers,
Rhys

Hi rhys I have struts of both types, but don't have rims without tyres. Are you just wanting the rim to strut measurement? I currently have 215/16/70 fitted to the rims... let me know exactly what measurements you want, although i'm doubtful that the big tires will actually fit on the lib strut, but we can only try...

Cheers,
Owen.

you wont fit anything bigger than 28-29ish tyres. They will hit the spring seat.
my07 Outback
my13 Hyundai i45(shhhh)
my02 Gen3 Liberty limited ed.

previously
L-series wagon, LSD, EJ20turbo, 29in tyres, 'wanky wagon'
2000 gen3 outback, lifted, otherwise stock.

I want the horizontal measurement of the distance between the inside of the rim to the strut tube itself, so it shouldn't matter if there are tyres on the rim. I'm trying to work out what the widest rim and offset can be fitted with the outback shocks.

Cheers,
Rhys
