Hey guys I was wondering if anybody had seen a set of 14" 4 stud wheels sitting around for an L series sport wagon I would prefer desert rats or sunny's black or white. Shes stock at the moment but is in need of new tires I didnt think putting the rims on at the moment would cause too many dramas with stock suspension... correct me if im correct. thanks guys
I plan on putting on the crossbred 2" lift as soon as possible.

I certainly will correct you although you are correct.
Buy new wheels. They're only $60-70 each, and won't be bent, rusted, cracked or have damaged stud holes. Save up until you can pay cash for a full set of wheels and tyres, and bargain hard.
20" wheels will fit on an L Series. The more important question is tyres. 185R14 LT tyres on Speedy Desert Rats will fit on an unmodified L series without rubbing. 27" AT tyres on Desert Rats will fit with minor mods to the front guards, but will still rub slightly on full lock/compression.
The upgrade to 14s is definitely worthwhile. If you're still running the original engine, I wouldn't go any larger than 185R14 tyres.

Thanks for the info Dane. I will probably most likley get new rims and tires considering they are not damged and still have the new shine

what price range do you reckon i would be looking at for new AT's and 14" rims? The motor is original EA82 with 205k on clock. She runs a beauty at the moment but I do worry about putting 27" tires on and the gearing being stock. I have a feeling it would turn mole hills into mountains for the wagon. cheers Dan

The last desert rat I bought was $64. Decent 14" light truck tyres can be had for $80-100. Dunno about 27" ATs, been a while since I've looked at them.
And if you want bling, chrome centre caps for those wheels are about $19 each.
Frank at Ian Diffens in Balcatta has always looked after me for wheels and tyres.
