So I need new tyres for my 96Lib Wagon.

I've had the springs, shocks and bushes replaced about 10k ago, and with the new bushes it does tend to crash over potholes and even cateyes - guess I should drop the tyre pressures. Point being whilst I tend to give my tyres a hard time I'm actually after something with a plush ride.

I drive mainly on road, and as far as I can tell there's no point getting some kind of H/T or A/T tyre as they're just not much better off road but noticeably compromised on road. I've been trying to track down some 14'' 5 stud wheels for an off road set but that's more of a pass time.

I need 195/60 15's and after a little shopping around here's what I'm looking at:

NB there are no Yoko's there. I had ADrives on my old corrolla which felt good and would consider ADriveR1's or CDrives if they were cheap enough and considered good.

I've looked at reviews online. There's not much on the AR10's or the 300E's, and the RE001's are reported to have soft sidewall's, which I'm not seeing as a drawback due to the hard bushes.

Thoughts anyone?

G`day, I have a 97wrx and i have tried several different brands but i seem to keep going back to potenza. I find that these stick like s@#t to a blanket whether its road or track,wet damp or dry. Currently running new re001 and am very happy.

Toyo Teo Plus are worth it.. But I am still not sure about the wear. So far travelled 25,000kms and i estimate it has approx 80% thread left. Sticks like glue specially in wet and handles really well in wet weather. I reckon they're best ive had, also quiet as well.

$620 for Toyo Teo is expensive, you can do better.
I paid $125ea ($500 fitted + alignment)for 16" from Bridgestone as I was busting my balls with them.

Got some prices for Yokohamas and am now leaning towards CDrives @ $590.

Reading online reviews there are a few criticisms of the Adrenalin's performance in the wet, and my priority is more comfort than outright grip. Those reviews are all over the place, I guess varied expectations are.

$126 for more confidence in the wet seems worth it to me.

Anybody had experience with CDrives? I had some ADrives on my old corolla which were a big improvement on the crap they replaced.

My preference is for Michelin and for your purposes I think their Energy XM1+ is probably good bang for buck .
Good modern tyres have a high silica content rubber compound and I think its worth paying for .

My Nissan wears Michelin Pilot Preceda 2's and the Lancer has Pilot Sport 3's
which is the current updated version . A grands worth of tyres on each and don't regret spending the money .

The Subaru has cheapie Chinese tyres on it but not the absolute cheapest ones sold here . Its very light and AWD and because it has larger bars and better suspension geometry than std RX Turbos its quite acceptable .

195 50 14/15/16 are all pretty bloody cheap. Look at the new BF Goodrich range of sport T/A as well, good value for money if handling well is your thing. Otherwise, dunlop has a special atm, buy 3 tyres and get the 4th free. Go see your nearest beaurepaires for tyres dealer

hey.. yeah i have toyo teos and c drives.. wat u experienced with the a drives u will experience that plus more.. im just in the process of replacing mine which i bought this time last year. they have done a great job.. it was a even wear throughout all 4 as i maintained them with rotations when needed.. i drive my car pretty hard around corners and they love it. the only difference i have noticed with these compared to my old teos were that when they are struglling they will screech where as the the teos didnt..

+1 for the Michies.
I'm onto my 2nd set of XM1+'s, 56,000kms from the first set and they handle very well on my Forester in both wet & dry conditions, di i mention there is no road noise like the Geosquealers.

Here you claim that you had Michelin Energy XM1 tyres, which is different to XM1+, showpost.php?p=131962&postcount=11

So, which ones did you really have ? I am also curious if the Energy XM1 tyres are made of hard rubber and understeer when turning...
