i have seen 1 with the 6 stud conversion. I believe it used the 16x6 rims off a d21 navara

Yeah that link for re-drilling the hubs is the preferred method.
If you are going to re-drill the actual rims to suit 4stud then use rims with a flat centre part like the classic 6stud white 15" Sunny commonly found on old Patrols and Landcruisers.

I've done the 6 stud conversion and used the link Toonga's posted as a guide. If you have a look at this link on the UK forum you can see some pictures of the conversion as part of my build write-up:

i did it to my L series.

redrill the hubs, NOT the rims.

i used chrome nissan terrano rims, they sat perfectly.

25mm to 30mm offset on 6" wide rims I found was the best. Keeps the tyres inside the guard.

Most 2WD 6 stud vehicles have a good offset for Subaru's without flares.

thanks for all the info, width was my main concern, i can make fiberglass flares if i need them.

Heaps more wheel choices with this setup aswell so sounds like the best option so far.

Cheers..

With a bit of bog, a very large centre drill or 60degree combined angle sharpened drill bit, and a lick of paint it is pretty easy to convert wheels to 4 stud as well...
