tyre sizes for a 1999 liberty

Post by george » Sun Jan 19, 2014 8:40 pm

I have just aquired a 1999 liberty (BH?) and as a lot of the driving it does is on dirt roads I wanted to upgrade from the standard 195/60 15. I have some 205/70 15 A/T Bridgstone Dueler on another car and was wondering will these foul the guards/suspension?

The car has standerd ride height.

Cheers
George

George you will new tyres will be 2 inches taller in circumference and not much wider than the 195/60 15's.

this tyre calculator will show you the size difference. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

If you are using the latest version of Java you will have to add it to the exception list in the java security console to get it to work, and Java will kick up a fuss as it isn't a https site. (overkill)

Thanks for the reply, I have already done the size calculations. As they are a bit larger than standard I was wondering if anyone knows if they will actualy fit without fouling.

Cheers

I tried to have some larger tyres fitted to my 98 liberty and they rubbed, so it was back to the standard tyres for me. Time for a lift kit me thinks.

My friends 99 Outback (BH model) has 215/60R16 on it and let down to 15psi on the beach and it runs perfect but this car has a 40mm lift over the standard Liberty. I would look at buying a 1" lift block kit for your struts and then fit 195/70R15 tyres.
