They'd be alright for some basic offroad and should fit without (too much) scrubing.

I researched this tyre option high and low, and the Nankangs won out for price and performance. Fitted the 27" 8.5X14 up to Scorpion rims on the Brumby, and I gotta say it looks pretty sweeet (2" lift)...Tyres cost me $105 each fitted in Melbourne.

Can anyone suggest something to fit onto a 13" standard Sunraysia?

2" lift is going in shortly and need something to fill out the guards!

Otherwise, anyone selling a set of Sunnies in 14"?

I'd personally go a 14" tyre

But if you want to stick to 13", I noticed these efforts. Never used them so I can't comment. They are still the standard size - they might give you traction - but not the height.

i was looking at those ones a while back... were going for 140 odd a tyre, evned up getting the bridgestone mud and snow studdable ones... they were really good but wore em out pretty fast coz they were really soft

My tourer came with Nankang 185/70R13's on it, apparently the guy got them for $100 each, no idea where from, they're not a bad tyre, don't grip on fast corners like the khumo road tyres but thats not their intended purpose.

The Khumos are generally around $145 each but we give a lot of business to the local tyre shop and he looks after us in return. (Same place that is importing those rims I advertised on the old forum)

I found the muddies are pretty quiet initially but tend to make a bit of noise as they age. They seem to be a softish compound to me but age fixes that. I used them for a long time until I went to 15's.

If any one in Qld wants a set call Dave or Brian at Goodyear at Morayfield and tell them I said to ring. I don't know that you will buy them as cheaply as we do but they will give you a good price regardless.

I got pretty good life out of mine. The first half of the ture wears quicker than the last half; most likely due to roll on the tread.

Value for money won't beat the Nangkangs. They are a better beach tyre but in my opinion not quite up to scratch of the Khumos muddies bush-wise. Close but not quite there.

Then again the Khumos don't quite match the Nangkangs on the beach.

Tread and wall shape along with ply rating all come in to account.

went to visit a good friend today, who works at a Beaurepaires...

He gets Nankangs at $110 a piece (trade price) 8O
So if you can get it around that price, that's good!!

Also, he can get the Khumos for $140 (trade price), and BFG All Terrains for $150 (trade price)

being his new job as Sales Manager (2 weeks into it), he can't give me trade prices yet

RRP for the following:
Nankangs $140
Khumos $180
BFG All Terrains $200 (on special apparently

)

Moral of the story? Stuff the big businesses, and give the 'little guy' a go!! My mate was stunned that I was able to get the Nankangs for $100 fitted!!!

ended up throwing the hankook w401's on. cost 128 each fitted. first impressions are that they're a bit squirmy on the road. the tread blocks are rather large and pretty soft but the tyre guy says that will settle and will stiffen up shortly. haven't taken them off road yet other than a quick scoot through a mates paddock - seemed ok there but hard to tell. i doubt they will be as good as the nankangs on the beach..........too skinny.

i'll let everyone know how they age and get on when fully loaded up for touring. cheers
