This may make more sense in up coming weeks, we’ll see – I HATE ambivalence.

At 1 stage we had HEAPS on info on here about 14" rubber, giventhe recent trend towards 15" runner can someone give me an indication as to the following…
1) What brand of tyers are people running for their 4WDing in 15"?
2) Approx how much they are paying for 15” off road tyers?
3) Are they scrubbing out or fouling on anything? (I am assuming 3” lift minimum).
4) Anything else?
Thanks

L-series sedan, 4" body lift and King Springs:
1) BFGoodrich Mud Terrain, 215/75/15
2) I think I paid about $260 per tire.
3) Yes I had to cut the guards front and rear, not much though. Both infront and behind the tire.
4) GO FOR IT!

Yes I had a look at both the Simex and the BFG’s today I have to check my rim width this arvo just to make sure. I am currently running a 215/65/15 (I think) road tyre with minimal issues and I am thinking that maybe 15” 4WD rubber is not that much bigger.
The struts are wound as far as they will go, my only other option is 3” lift just to make sure.
I can edit this post later however I have still not discounted the 14” option just looking at all possible options cost/benefits/loss before parting with up to $1000 on rims.
Thanks.

Thats what I was wondering Stinky - My L cruises along at 2500rpm at 100kph with 26" Coopers and takes its time getting everywhere (at least I have a Low range that I can now use onroad). I am resisting turbo motors for a vareity of reasons.
I think I will be sticking with 14" tyres. I won't be going any bigger than 27" - specially with a 2" lift. My car goes everywhere where I point it - those that have seen it in action will know. I guess it depends how extreme you want to go.

i think youd defanetly need aturbo or a ej to cope with the bigger tyres hey...

This is why i've gone for 4.44 diff ratio so i can run larger rubber without a noticeable affect on performance ,but that comes with a larger lift and a ej22

I noticed Stinky's post on Simex tires.
From my experience with them I can say the tread patterns are excellent, however their construction is cheap and horrible and they really don't like working at low pressures.

I was out with a Patrol on 36" Simex Extreme 2's today, his tyres were down to like 14psi and had wicked pillowing as he was driving over stuff. I was really impressed by them.
