Can you get 'All Terrain Tyres' to fit 15" rims....on a lifted L-Series...???

If so, what sizes/brands do you guys recommend...??

Im contemplating a 'Crossbred' 5-Stud Brake upgrade kit for my 'L', giving me 15" rims.....but can I still fit AT's....?

Ive seen that 14"s do well on the L's with AT's

15" rims give u the biggest options of offroading tyres out there

finding tyres for my lib was the easiest thing other then buying the L series,

14" offroad tyres are very very difficult to come by as you only really have a choice between 2 or 3 different brands. Also you hit the limit in size at 27"

Going to 15" takes all that away. You can get virtually any brand or model you like. Beware that going to something bigger than 27" will require extensive guard chopping to fit them.

COOL...thanks Andrew

Your running 14's arent you?

So my limit 27" then..?

I figured that a 15" Rim WITH AT's would have been too big to fit under my L guards....

Do you guys have any recommendations of Brands/Sizes...? :D

Good for wear and good off-road....also good at making you go on "off-road" expeditions, if you get my drift (bad pun too).

I'm just running 14" Speedies with 27" Desert Duelers at the moment.

Shortly I will be moving to 15" with the Crossbred kit and hopefully fitting 29" tyres in. I am expecting to do substantial guard chopping to achieve this :)

yes u will i have 29s on my brumby with a 2 inch lift i took about 75mm all round off. if possible i would go a 3inch lift coz the xtra 20 or so mm u need with 2 inch kit is a bit of a pig to do if not moving front wheels forward thats my 2 cents anyway and need an ej to get em rollin

Got the EJ already, got 3" lift too....*might* still be going to a 6" but we shall see how the tyres fit first.

6" LIFT...!?! :o

My goodness....how can you achieve this without putting the driveline under enormous stress...??

Surely your CV joints would be highly stressed at an angle like that in your 6".....I am surprised you can even get away with your 4" lift.

When I asked my mechanic who has specialised in Lift Kits and Suspension for years, says that any more than 2" lift for a Subi would strain the CV's too much and run a higher risk of breaking things.....

Subaru's don't get lifted like most other 4WD's, in a subaru it's not just raising the suspension, the whole drivetrain gets seperated from the body by the size of the kit, this in itself doesn't really get you any extra clearance but it allows you to fit larger rims and tyres which does give you the extra clearance.

Doing it this way the CV's still maintain the stock angles.

It's actually quite amusing looking into the engine bay of a 6" lifted vehicle as the top of the engine is almost at the bottom of the radiator, you could just about sit on top of the engine and close the bonnet on top of yourself.
