Outback H6 Tyre selection

Going to need tyres some time in the next couple of months and am looking for some suggestions....
Currently have the factory Toyo's on there, and whilst they are sensational on a wet highway, and pretty good on the beach, I feel there would be better options out there...
90% highway, 10% beach/sand track/some mud
Factory size is 215/60/16 but a slight increase in diameter can't hurt!
I still need something that grips, even the toyos will break free with a bootful in the wet...
Anyone got any suggestions?

These are available in 215/60R16 (95H load / speed rating), and are an excellent wet weather road tyre. I've been using GIII's on my Outback for the last 40,000km and can't fault them for sealed road use. I expect mine to be down to the wear indicator mark by 55,000km which for a performance tyre is a pretty good lifespan.
BTW, I thought all Outbacks came from the factory fitted with Yokohamas?

you know i agree with jack
and no i dont want to sell you my G3's
you could also look at a bridgestone D693 215/65R16
they last forever and hung on good enough on scotts weapon lib, and now on bryans wagon

hrmmm D694 looks good too, bit more road agressive but still an AT
235/60/16 would be beach friendly too!

I had hankook dynamic ra03 [215/65x16] on my turbo lib and loved them

I have considered that size D694 for my lib but i reckon they are just oto wide for a Gen1. I was gonna put them on my 7" wide WRX alloys but i reckon i would need an inch wider offset to fit them

have a looksy at BFG long-trails, they are a predominantly road tyre, but a fairly aggressive tread for abit off offroad work..

When I had my Outback the same as yours I used to run Yoko Geloandar ATII+ whatever model they are. Got them for a lot cheaper than the standard rubbish fitted to them. They are 3 ply and grip much better in the wet too. Off road they made a huge difference and they were a littel larger too - only small difference. Instead of a 215/60/16 they were 215/65/16's.
ripped away at the black plastic strip on the inside of the rear guard though.
