With the impending arrival of my Crossbred 5-stud hub conversion, I am pondering the huge wheel options available.
I thought having a poll would give forum users the chance to have some direct imput into the brumbyrunner project.
The first step is to call for candidates so post up your preferences.
Must be a 16 inch rim, 6 to 7" wide, 5x100 PCD, wider offset the better (so a Forester/Outback rim would be preferable for stability), either genuine or aftermarket.
A description and photo would be preferable to a link. Be good to include the weight of the rim as well.
If anyone wants to get real serious they could even photochop their choice under the race ute and post that up.
After the entries stop coming in, I'll do the poll.

I think your going to have to go aftermarket to get eh offset your after.

the widest offset you can get in a factory rim is +48mm.. forester / outback

what offset are the superlites you have now?

does the crossbred kit change the track width of the car?

I dont know how much difference the Crossbred kit will make to the track width so the current setup is irrelavent. I just want it as wide as I can get it.
Just concentrate on more is better.

then get something aftermarket like the alloys brett and dave run. I think bretts 15x7's are +40 offset

The other option is some cheap factory alloys, and some big ass wheel spacers and longer studs. you could get whatever offset you want then

16x7 98/99 WRX alloys would look the goods and can be had dirt cheap. Add spacers and you have whatever offset you want.

If you are chasing a wider track, have you gone down the L series control arms path yet? Because that will give about another 50ish mm out each side? Although you will have to have more castor to allow for the different arms, and also i don't know how it would go with CAMS?

Um....guys....I was chasing a few opinions on what you thought might look good under my racecar. This is a purely cosmetic thing...ok? I can get steel Forester wheels for free. Try to stay on topic. I will post up my choices when I've seen some of yours.

iv been told the WRX rims, maybe the ones Vincent Vega mentioned i aint sure of wt theyre off or nething but apparently they are like 6kgs a rim.

Weight is a huge consideration on a racecar.

I will probably get a set of 15"s as well. I just thought this poll could be for what 16"s look best under my racecar.

This is a wheel that caught my eye.
Performance Lotus 15x7, comes in +35,+40 or +45 and weighs 10.4kg

Just missed out on buying these for $200!

Thus far I have not had a comment as I do not have the time to look at mag pix for ya (which is a bummer). This being said I like the last three options… I do have to ask though what’s wrong with what your running now? I know that they are not HUGELY attractive however (I think) they look good on the Brumby.

Stuart, I reckon go with the Superlites again. Go to their site and you can see the amount of different offsets and sizes available. There is an absolute **** load of different offsets available. They are a good high density wheel. Which equates to strong. I think, from memory that they have a load rating of 650kgs compared to around 450kgs. Stay away from light or standard alloys, they will only give you troubles if you hit rocks and ****, which you will.

I have seen a Superlite after it hit a tree stump at 80k's an hour. The outer rim was bent but not smashed as a lot of the lighter "sports" type wheels will do. Sure the tyre is going to go flat but at least you will still have a rim on the ground so you can steer to a stop.
