Gaurd Trimming - advise

Just wondering if anyone can post up or send us some pic's of there gaurd trimming.
I have 2" lift on an L wagon with nankang 27" and 14" sunnie's.
I bought some rubber stripping from clarks over the weekend but Im worried they wont stay on well if the 90degree lip is removed from the 1/4 pannel wheel well.
What did you use for the cutting? hacksaw, angle grinder, one of those electric knife type air saws?
How'd you protect the bare metal, is a few coats of primer enough?
Cheers.

hey i just did this to my L series tonight to fit my kumho 27's under.
used an angle grinder, found it to be the most accurate at cutting and adjusting as you go.
first i put the new wheels on then estimated how much i needed to cut off, and sketched with a pencil on the paintwork where i wanted it to go.
then using the grinder i made a cut about 10mm away from the line i drew on the guards, cutting off most of that 90 degree lip.
then with i decent pair of pliers just slowley bent the metal right on that pencil line, and created a new lip. used a hammer to just bend it a bit more and neaten it up.
the paint cracked a bit, but i'm just planning on sanding it back a bit, coupla coats of primer then few coats of gloss.
its dark but here are a few quick pics, these tyres are not 27's tho, they are 205/70 14

Cheers guys
Thanks for the pics subius looks good, guess im going to need to get some touch up paint too. Im going to tackle this this weekend and look into making up a bashplate too.
Funny I did search for "trimming" and "gaurds" and that thread didnt come up. My spelling of guards probably didnt help.

might of read it wrong but when fitting 27's to a brumby will i need to trim the rear arch's aswell or is the front the only concern with a 3in lift?
